About Us

The mission of TigerHawk Preschool, a partnership of school staff, parents, and community, is to prepare students to be life-long learners who can become successful, productive future citizens. This will be accomplished by recognizing the value of each individual and promoting academic and personal growth in a challenging and caring environment.

Here at TigerHawk Preschool, we believe in the importance of a hands-on teaching approach that encourages exploration and discovery to fit the needs of each individual child. We follow the Creative Curriculum, use the GOLD assessment tool, as well as the government required IGDS literacy assessment. We strive to teach our students the importance of controlling their emotions, using kind words, and working together to create a positive learning environment.

As the children play, they cooperate with one another, problem solve, construct a plan and pursue it, use expressive language, converse with peers, make predictions, observe outcomes, develop number concepts, develop letter recognition, develop hand-eye coordination, develop a sense of self, and much more. Embedded in our centers, you will find numbers, letters, and fine motor tools to enhance academic achievement.

At TigerHawk Preschool we are passionate about helping children learn, grow, and have fun. We want your experience with us to be the best that it can be, so we encourage you to get involved. Talk to your child about what they did at school, use the newsletter to review concepts from that week, or volunteer if you have the time! Contact your child's teacher today with ANY questions or concerns, and we will be excited to talk with you.
